The Wyvern Ketch

Charlie and Phyllis Atha purchased the Irwin in 1998 and re-christened it the Wyvern in honor of the original Wyvern, a two-masted schooner owned by Charlie’s great-great-grandfather in the 1880’s in the New York area. They have continuously refurbished and maintained the Wyvern and called it home since 1999.

The Wyvern

A Wyvern is a mystical dragon with wings, small forelegs, long muscular hind legs and a long tail. The symbol is often used on family shields.
